Robert J. Wallis PhD lectures in art history, archaeology and religious studies, is the author of three books including Shamans/neo-Shamans: Ecstasy, Alternative Archaeologies and Contemporary Pagans (Routledge 2003), and Co-directs the Sacred Sites, Contested Rights/Rites Project (www.sacredsites.org.uk).
