Dr Sandra Gattenhof is Associate Professorand Head of Drama in the Creative IndustriesFaculty, Queensland University of Technology(QUT). She is co-convenor of the QUT researchgroup in Art, Design and Creative Education andco-program leader of the Children and YouthCultures strand within QUT's Children and YouthResearch Centre (CYRC). Sandra specialisesin drama/arts in schools & communities,postdramatic theatre, arts & cultural evaluationand contemporary performance for children andyoung people. She is a former Vice President ofthe International Theatre and Education Association (IDEA); Drama AustraliaPresident and its Director of Arts Education and Industry Partnerships; DramaQueensland President; and a Chair or Board member of a number of youtharts organisations at national and state levels. Currently Sandra is DramaAustralia's representative on National Advocates for Arts Education (NAAE),the recognised peak body in the arts learning area. In 2012 she was honouredwith Drama Queensland's Life Member Award for Longstanding Contributionto the Drama Community. QUT Awards include two Vice-Chancellor'sPerformance Awards in recognition of a significant and superior contributionto the work of the University (2014 and 2007), and the Creative IndustriesFaculty Dean's Award for Excellence in Research and Innovation (2011).
