Satya Prakash

Prof. Satya Prakash is among World top 2% Scientists in the field of Material Science, published 412 research papers in reputed journals.He has been Vice Chancellor of Jiwaji University Gwalior, Professor and Chairman, Dean Faculty of Science and U.G.C. Emeritus Fellow at Department of Physics, Panjab University Chandigarh. He obtained M.Sc. and D.Phil. Degrees from Allahabad University.He was also Research Fellow at Australian National University, Canberra; Research Associate at CNRS, France; Visiting Professor/Visiting Scientist at ESPCI and University of Paris VI, France, University of Duisburg, Germany, ICTP Trieste, Italy, AERE Harwell, U.K., Bell Laboratory and Oak Ridge National Laboratory, USA, and recipient of several awards including Burse, Joliot Curie, France, Higher Education and Development Award, New Delhi, Lifetime Achievement Award ITDC and Membership, Kendriya Hindi Samiti, Rajbhasa Vibhag, Govt. of India.He has made significant contributions in material science particularly on Lattice Dynamics of Simple and Transition Metals, Magnetic Excitations in Metals, Electric and Strain Field Gradients in Dilute Alloys, Hydrogen Diffusion in Metals and Cuprates, Structural and Electronic properties of Nano Phase and Semiconducting materials. His scholarly book “Dynamics of Transition Metals and Alloys” (Nova Science, New York, 1998) is landmark in the physics of transition metals. He also contributed and edited: “Advances in Statistical Physics of Solids and Liquids” (John Wiley, New York 1990) and “Disordered Materials” (Narosa Pub. New Delhi, 2003).He has also eminent social welfare contributions. As President of Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT), he expressed his deep concerns about science education in India in his volume “Vision for Science Education” (Allied Publishers, New Delhi, 2014).The present volume is the narration of his concerns about ethics in state university education.
