Susan Hanson

Susan Hanson is Professor of Geography at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. Having earned her Ph.D. at Northwestern University in 1973, she specializes in urban social geography, with a particular emphasis on the travel-activity patterns of urban residents. She has published a number of papers that seek to establish the determinants of these patterns and several that focus specifically on the urban impact of women's changing roles. Currently the Editor of the Annals of the Association of American Geographers, she has also served~ as the Associate Editor of The Professional Geographer.
