About this ebook

“Unknown vessel, leave Arvex Station Atlas territory immediately. Or just stay very still, maybe.”

Tez and her silent enemy had been at each other's throats for months, trying to shoot each other from the orbit of Arvex.

She always thought of the intruder as “it” because they were taught to eschew the enemy’s humanity for as long as possible. She’d studied its flight patterns intricately… maybe a little obsessively. It was an object—a target.

But then her target sent both of them crashing to the surface of the uninhabitable planet she was meant to be guarding. Now, trapped together in the remnants of a cramped fighter craft, Tez finds herself face-to-face with her enemy for the first time.

Fear grips her, yet it's not his forceful grip on her wrists as he towers over her that sends shivers down her spine. It's the electric charge that crackles between them, immobilizing her under the weight of his penetrating gaze.

Tez has been suppressing her compulsive curiosity about who exactly was in that enemy cockpit for weeks. Now, she's faced with the real thing... And he might be her downfall.

Downfall: An Enemies to Lovers Sci-Fi Romance is a steamy novella in which seething animosity intertwines with undeniable desire within the tightest of spaces.

This novella is dual POV, well written and edited, and an interesting world building tale which is a prequel for the author’s next series. I enjoyed the world and the situation. I enjoyed the character and relationship development. I enjoyed the intimate scenes. I would have liked the story to be longer but it is a prequel. I’m looking forward to the series. I received a complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Downfall is an enjoyable short read. Alexandra Norton combines compelling characters and a futuristic sci-fi storyline. Romance, adventure, and action. Short but, certainly, a treat. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Tessa “Tez” is a pilot guard with Hydra Corporation, protecting the Arvex station before it’s decommissioned. Stag is a pilot and a “gnat” - always buzzing about the station, causing Tez and the other guards to engage. But then, in one engagement, Tez and Stag crash land on the planet Arvex, and while waiting for rescue, engage in other activities. This story packs in the action and the heat! I loved how hate did a hard 180 to lust, and then softened - Tez and Stag were on fire together!
