An unexpected inheritance…

Could change their lives

Cash is key to saving widow Amanda Flores’s garden center—the future for her daughter, Paisley. So inheriting her great-aunt’s lodge in Swan Falls, Alaska, is a miracle. But ownership is shared with soft-eyed stranger Nathan Swan…and he refuses to sell. As they repair the lodge, take part in the Feather Festival and have run-ins with the local wildlife, bookish Paisley is blossoming. And Nathan’s kindness is healing Amanda’s bruised heart. Can she let go of her well-laid plans, and past pain, to risk a second chance at love?

I really enjoyed Her Alaskan Summer, a heartwarming romance between Amanda, a young widow trying to hang onto the family business as a legacy for her young daughter Paisley, and Nathan, who also inherits half of Amanda's great aunt's lodge. Ms. Carpenter always manages to make me feel part of the Alaskan landscape. The marsh associated with the lodge is a magical place and I love the reading tent! I really enjoyed watching Paisley bloom in Alaska. Amanda and Nathan have different plans for their shared inheritance. I loved watching Nathan's kindness change Amanda's view of what is important. I enjoyed watching them fix up the lodge and fall in love. I said the heck with the to-do list and just sat and enjoyed this well written book.

About the author

Beth Carpenter grew up on a farm reading everything she could get her hands on, from cereal boxes to the encyclopedia. Saturday visits to the library were the highlight of her week. Due to motion sickness, she couldn't read on the school bus so she made up her own stories instead. She still consumes books like popcorn and loves to create happy endings for her imaginary friends. She believes dogs, books, and laughter are key to happiness. And dark chocolate. And love.
