About the author

Cassandra Barnes is a lesbian activist who marched in the very first Gay Pride Parade on the near North Side of Chicago. She has been writing since childhood and has lived all over the United States. Her favorite places include Los Angeles, southern Alaska, Harvard Square, Boston, Charlottesville, San Diego, Tijuana, Smithers in Canada and southern Canada in general. True to that, she now lives in northern Maine near the Canadian border with her fine rescued Yorkie, Sparky. She graduated from Boston University, magna cum laude, and attended Harvard for graduate school.
