(The story is in Hindi)
Vo Peepal Ka Ped is a tragedy. The author’s grandmother loves him immensely when he lost his father in childhood. He is getting so much love and affection from his mother and maternal uncles that he does not pay attention to his study, rather wastes his time in playing whole day. Once his grandmother after admitting to a nearby school takes him to the Peepal Tree, and there she pours water in its root, worships with sheer devotion and prays to it to change his grandson’s mind to take interest in study.
After that the author starts going to school regularly.
One day his grandmother falls seriously ill and passes away in presence of the author stating that her son (Author’s father) living in the tree is calling her to accompany and that is why she is going there.
The author is extremely sad on sudden demise of his grandmother. Later on he gets a higher post/ posision in service career.
The story is very tragic knitted with the truth of life. It is a part of the author’s autobiography titled as “ Aisi Thi Meri Ma .”
