Acerca de este libro electrónico

Imaging Neuroinflammation provides an overview of the molecular and cellular basis of inflammation and its effects on neuroanatomy, reviews state-of-the-art imaging tools available to measure neuroinflammation, and describes the application of those tools to both preclinical animal disease models and human disease. This book is an authoritative reference on imaging neuroinflammation, MRI, neuroinflammation, MR Spectroscopy of inflammation, Iron imaging in inflammation, and more. - Explains how inflammation in the central nervous system impacts tissue microstructure - Presents imaging methods that are useful for assessing neuroinflammation - Describes preclinical models of neuroinflammation - Reviews the role of neuroinflammation in human injury and disease states

Acerca del autor

Dr. Cornelia (Corree) Laule is a physicist who has been involved with nuclear magnetic resonance and magnetic resonance imaging research for more than 25 years. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in neuropathology focusing on MRI pathology correlation studies in multiple sclerosis brain tissue. She has been a faculty member at the University of British Columbia since 2013. Dr. Laule's main interests are the development, validation, and application of quantitative magnetic resonance methods for brain and spinal cord imaging with emphasis on myelin, axons, and inflammation.Dr. John D. Port received his BS in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT in 1986, then attended the University of Illinois at Chicago for his MD and PhD training. He completed his radiology residency and fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital in 2000 and has been working at Mayo Clinic since. Dr. Port's main interests are the applications of novel magnetic resonance spectroscopy and imaging techniques to numerous psychiatric and neurological diseases, including demyelinating disorders.
