The Massacre Ball

"The one normal functional relationship quality I have with Mina is honesty." Book three is a bit darker, but with some suprising insights regarding Brian. I love how he's finding himself compelled to keep a watchful eye on Adrian. I can't help but think it would be kind of interesting if somehow he and Mina raised Adrian. I know it can't happen but wouldn't that be a blast? The main focus of this story was first the set-up for the hit and then the event itself, which, no suprise, doesn't go as smoothly as Brian expected. Of course if it had, it wouldn't have been as much fun! Oh, and despite being in many ways darker than the first two books, I still laughed several times. Brian is just so funny at times. I love getting to be inside his head. Next up, Christmas. Somehow I don't think this story is going to involve Santa Clause and singing carols around a tree. I can't wait to see what happens.

You know how we all see Brian as cold, unfeeling, brutal? Well, we get to see what happens when he doesn’t lock down his emotions in this story, and it is wild! He is still cold, and there is most definitely brutality, in fact, it is ratcheted up, but when those gates open, and those emotions pour out, look out anything, or anyone, in his path. The relationship between Brian and Mina becomes more clear, and a bit more murky. There are moments, some good, some bad, and some scary!
