Kedatangannya di Kota Ambon mempertemukan Rumi dengan tetangga lama. Musa. Pria buruk rupa dan buruk laku yang sepuluh tahun lalu diusir dari kampung halaman mereka karena peringainya. Perjumpaan itu menyebabkan pandangan Rumi berubah terhadap Musa. Begitu pula dengan isi hati Rumi yang dibolak-balik hingga terjatuh ke perangkap sang adam mantan preman.
Namun, cinta pertama tidak bersambut. Pria yang merantau jauh di timur Indonesia itu tidak membalas perasaan Rumi setelah diberikannya perhatian yang sangat berlebihan. Di hati pria itu hanya ada nama janda beranak satu yang dia tinggal di kampung halaman mereka. Kepulangan Rumi justru membawa oleh-oleh sebungkus patah hati.
