This was a very interesting quick read that was full of twists and turns! Lilly Lyon is an actress whose show just got closed after the first act on the opening night. She finds herself at a dead end when she meets Jareth. She's not sure if he is for real or a stalker but he is charming and seems sincere. He has a proposition for her. He wants her to come to his tiny kingdom and play the part of Princess Genevieve of Cerasus who is about to be crowned Queen. Oh but wait someone is trying to kill Princess Genevieve. I love the characters and the plot!! This story is full of suspense, heat and twists and turns that I did not see coming! I enjoyed this very addictive and captivating story.

What a fantastic book! Definitely not your typical run of the mill damsel in distress story! Lily is an actress who's broke and without a job. The last play she was in closed on the opening night. Along comes this hot, sexy and mysterious royal guard Jasper with an offer that Lily can't refuse. Twenty grand to pretend that she's Princess Genevieve of Ceresus for a week. But the job isn't what she expect to be. The princess is a hateful and have a venomous demeanor and Lily struggles to portray the princess without giving away her true identity. I love this book, the mystery, the intrigue, twists and turns and dangerous plots! Totally unexpected! I was captivated from the get go and highly recommend this book! The first book in the Damsels Defeating Distress series and I know I want to read the next book. This book has so many twists and turns that it keeps you on the edge of your seat you never know what is going to happen.
