Devil's Pawn

OMG. OMG... Do you know how long I was waiting for a book from this lady? Too long, if I'm being honest. I love her books. I haven't read many but the ones I've read were able to make me a fan. Natasha Knight is the queen of darkness. Her writing is raw and wild, intense, dark and forbidden... The ingredients that, in my humble opinion, are perfect to create a masterpiece. Have you had the chance to read any of her books? Don't waste any more time and go get them. Devil's Pawn is her latest release and it's the first book from the Devil's Pawn duet. This new book explores the lives of Jericho and Isabelle. Jericho only has two goals set in life. The first one is to keep his daughter safe, no matter what. And the second one is to get revenge against the Bishops. Years ago, they had ruined him and now his eyes are set on taking Isabelle, and through her, ruin and destroy her family to the ground... Isabelle lived her life, day by day until her reality changed drastically. She was abducted by the powerful Jericho and now she's at his mercy... Let me just say that once this book ended I was mad...oh so freaking mad... Wanna know why? Because it ended in a cliffhanger and I was left wanting more. Seriously Natasha? You're an evil woman... Evil... Why end it like that? Superb plot, very well written, super engaging, dark, and intense. Each chapter was even more addictive than the latest and I couldn't stop reading it. I saw myself reading nonstop and the need to know more was so overwhelming that I saw myself saying, just one more chapter, just one more. But one turns to two, and then three and you can fill in the blanks. There were parts of the book that wanted to slap someone silly, jeez, he sure is a stubborn hothead... But then I wanted to hold Isabelle and promise her better days. The entire book was evolved in a thick dark cloud and I felt my heart constricted... Despite all the darkness, we have some stellar hot stuff into the mix. I was so happy to have news from Santiago and Ivy. I miss them. Now it's going to be torture to wait for the next book. Please, Natasha, don't take too long because the wait will kill me. I voluntarily read an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I really really do not like Jericho 😕 Is he is redeemable - Yes, but at the moment I stand firmly in the belief that he can swim with the fishes 🐟 Belle's life is a bit like watching a tennis match - It is not her fault - it is the beast's fault - One minute he is blazing hot and Belle can do nothing but smolder beneath him The next? He is an iceberg that leaves behind one heck of a burn I admire her in so many ways - for as young and as trusting as she is and all the ugliness that she has faced in her short life (wait till that truth comes out) the girl still has some serious cajones and a heart as big as Texas I'm upset 😡 with Jericho for what he's done to her - you can't undo those choices (Does what you are doing not make you as sick as the Bishops?) I know (I think I know) Z's secret though I'm not sure of the why of it but I think it connects to Zoe's and if it is what I think it is OMG Carlton is just plain slimy - greedy- and I hope karma meets him in an alley - her cousin isn't much better but there could be more there regarding her than I am seeing I read this in one sitting - pizza guy and my fam love me - With each new flip of the page there was another puzzle piece - and as Knight is known to do - they didn't always fit into the picture as I believed they should This is a captive/forced om/yw villain revenge romance so there is all kinds of triggering things happening - just a heads up Also, this ends on a cliffy (hellllooooo it's a duet) it also has cameos from some of my favorite characters. 😍 I need to know how this goes down because I'm seeing a life for a life and I do not think it is the life Jericho planned 😢

Ah, your family and mine have been at odds for centuries, and you will pay the debt! I love this trope, and I love how this authour can write this trope and change the story in so many ways. In this case, our hero is not as focused as he seems, he is overprotective, and for good reason. His emotions, not just revenge, guide his actions. Our heroine is innocent, of course, but she doesn’t fit either. She never was part of this world, didn’t even know she belonged in it. What cannot be denied is the heat and attraction between the two of them. As the larger story plays out around them, and you start to see the players move into place, you just know the conclusion to this duet is going to be explosive!!!
