Dieser Band wird als Festschrift für den Mainzer Theologieprofessor Walter Dietz aus Anlass seines 65. Geburtstages herausgegeben. Weggefährten, Kollegen, Schüler sowie (ehemalige) Lehrstuhlmitarbeitende widmen sich im ersten Teil aktuellen Fragen der Systematischen Theologie. In einem zweiten Teil suchen die Beiträger das theologische Gespräch mit großen Denkern (Martin Luther, Martin Heidegger, Dietrich Bonhoeffer und andere mehr). Weiterhin beinhaltet der Band eine biblisch-archäologische und eine exegetische Perspektive auf dogmatische Topoi. Vorangestellt ist ein kirchenhistorischer Beitrag, der die Geschichte der Systematischen Theologie an der Johannes Gutenberg-Universität wissenschaftlich reflektiert. Inhaltlich verbunden sind die einzelnen Aufsätze durch die anselmianische Programmansage, die – weil sie das theologische Werk von Walter Dietz durchzieht – zum Titel dieses Buches gewählt worden ist. [Fides quaerens intellectum. Festschrift for Walter Dietz] This volume is published as a festschrift for the Mainz theology professor Walter Dietz on the occasion of his 65th birthday. In the first part, companions, colleagues, former students, and collaborators devote themselves to current questions of systematic theology. In the second part, the contributors seek theological dialogue with great thinkers (such as Martin Luther, Martin Heidegger, Dietrich Bonhoeffer and others). Furthermore, this volume contains a biblical-archaeological and also an exegetical perspective on dogmatic topoi. The essays are preceded by a contribution on church history, which reflects the history of systematic theology at the Johannes Gutenberg University. The individual essays are linked by the Anselmian programmatic statement, which - because it runs through the theological work of Walter Dietz – has been chosen as the title of this book.
