This Colossians is the gospel letter that the apostle Paul who was in the prison of Rome wrote for the Colossae church.However, it is the gospel letter too of us, the chosen people of God who are living today.Colossae was located in Phrygia region of Asia Minor with Laodicea at the west bound and Hierapolis at the north bound.And Ephesus is located at the west seaside from Colossae.As the mentioned at Colossians 1:6, the preachers sent by God preached already the gospel to Colossians.Therefore, Some of Colossians were aware spiritually of and believed the gospel that bears fruits of the salvation. Since then, Epaphras interpreted spiritually and deeply the gospel to the children saved of God at Colossae just as the message of Colossians 1:7.Thus, the Colossae church that was built already learned the gospel deeply from Epaphras.And Epaphras served the Colossae church like the pastor.During his third missionary journey, the apostle Paul appointed 12 his disciples at the Ephesus church, (See Acts 19:6-10)And the apostle Paul taught the gospel deeply focusing to the 12 disciples every day at the lecture hall of Tyrannus of Ephesus for two years. So that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia Minor heard the gospel of the Lord.At that time, those who bear the fruit of the gospel returned back to their place and they built their churches. Among them, were those who came from Colossae of Phrygia region and Laodicea at the west side from Colossae and Hierapolis at the north side from Colossae.In such circumstance, the apostle Paul wrote the gospel letter, Colossians for the Colossae church that was built already.Therefore, he wrote the gospel letter that contains the gospel of Christ about Jesus, which is the core of the gospel in great depth.Because it is his first preaching of the gospel directly to them. γ For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. γ (See Colossians 3:3)The one who has been saved is the one who nailed on his cross his mind of the flesh that becomes the bodily life. And the life that was in Jesus from the beginning (see John 1:4), which is the image of God that is invisible by the eyes of the flesh, came to become the head of the spiritual church in the one who has been saved.Therefore, he is to become the new self who is living with the spiritual life in Jesus.So that his spiritual life is now hidden with Christ in God due to the spiritual life that is invisible by the eyes of the flesh. Also, through this gospel letter that was written even about the suffering Jesus himself endured on the Cross and what is still lacking in regard to Christβs afflictions and a lot of the word of truth of God which did not hear from other gospel letters, you will be aware spiritually of and believe the will of God in those gospel.Therefore, you will be saved and will become to bear the fruit of the gospel and will become to live with the spiritual knowledge, emotion and will renewed by the life in Jesus that becomes the image of God.I, David Kwak, am the author of this Interpretation Book of Colossians.To help what you gain easily a spiritual understand of Colossians, I put the spiritual Interpretation under each verse of the messages of Colossians.Therefore, through the detailed spiritual interpretation, you will become to be aware spiritually of and believe the will of God for such messages that the apostle Paul preached through Colossians. If You have been saved, you are going to γ have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. γ (See Colossians 3:10)It means that thc children saved of God are to become those who renewed by the spiritual life of the new self living with the spiritual knowledge, emotion and will by the life in Jesus that is the image of God.Even though you who have been saved are living with the flesh in the world, because you died with the flesh and you are living with the spiritual knowledge, emotion and will by the life in Jesus, you are living with the spiritual life that the devil can not tempt.David K. in the Lord
