JL Collins is an Australian author raised in that nation's capital city, Canberra. He specialises in contemporary Australian fiction. He served as an officer in the Royal Australian Infantry and was posted to 1/19 Royal New South Wales Regiment. He holds a Bachelor of Economics from the Australian National University. From 2005 to 2009, he was Australia's expert on cryptography at the Wassenaar Arrangement in Vienna. By day he wears a suit in a Canberra office, but at night he dreams up new ways of making his characters take their clothes off. To date, he has written five novels and three short stories. He plans to finish his seven book Love of a Lifetime series in 2026 before moving onto new projects. His stories are inspired by recent Australian history and real events. His second novel, Ghost of Timor, has won multiple awards and recommendations including the 2024 Reader Views Gold medal for Erotica.
