Mostly use it for GPS tagging in pictures (with A7RV) - that is incredibly unreliable. Camera is set to maintain connection even if power is off. The app has all permissions available to it and is allowed to run in background and at startup, and Android is not allowed to kill it. It is capable of connecting and recording location information when it feels like it. It will however randomly, and very frequently, decide in the app to switch the location sharing option off again.

Terrible! How can they make such good cameras and such bad software? I've tried many many times to send a photo from my camera to my phone and it JUST DOESN'T WORK! It gives hard to understand error messages. When it fails it flashes a long message so quickly you can't read it. It looks ugly, and it's hard to use. Sony should be ashamed of themselves.

I knew I shouldn't have updated. Before, to get photo's from my cybershot WX500 to my phone, it was a simple matter of activating the wireless on my camera, and Imaging Edge detected it. Now, I have to manually go to the phone settings, go to wifi, select the camera, move over to the app, and only then it'll pick up the signal. Why make it worse? However, the transfer IS fast, and you can select multiple photos on the camera. Fix the communication between devices, and quality of life will improve.
